I have done a lot of research on this one, thanks to "Vintage Drum Guide"

So I took the hardware off and started to clean it up, I first started with some #0000 steel wool. The tube lugs came out pretty nice, the hoops on the snare drum are gonna be a little tougher. The tom tom hoop looks great, most of the dirt and grim came off smoothly, then I took some Brasso and started polishing it up. Now Im not a pro at cleaning, some of you probably are laughing because im doing it wrong, haha so leave a comment and let me know how wrong I am. Anything helps.

These drums are all painted, so sanding is a bit tedious... as you cen tell with my video. I made sure to but painters tape over the holes. Didn't want it to get everywhere.

Now that the snare is done im moving on the the tom tom. I found a picture of Old man Ludwig. His ghost actually. check it out

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FUWlxNnxfrs/TcMg58GHVqI/AAAAAAAAAC4/whjICq4EGws/s200/DSCN1302.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603358541135435426" />

Pete Wheeler

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Dr4yiqG1S_4/TcBrOOP4BkI/AAAAAAAAACQ/7yqER63Y0uI/s320/DSCN1297.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602595828535920194" />
Pete Wheeler is the name of my drum cart. I really only joined because there was this girl I liked and... right, anyway... So I started to take lessons from a cat by the name of Kelly Dunn, KDunn for short. I never called him that in person, only when I was taking about how awesome he was to my friends. For a while I was knockin down rudiments and reading "stick control" and joel rothmens rock rudiments book. It was okay, band was fun, I received and A, but it wasn't what I really wanted. Now the Drum set was what I had my sights on, you know, be a rock star and play in a band. So the story begins...

"Hello, Costco?, yeah I need one of those silvertone drum sets"

Silvertone drums, the best of the best. That was my first set. The color was burgundy, to me it was red. I don't care for any color outside of first grade, keep it simple please.

More on this story later... now on to my project
